Sir Terry Wogan Poem, In Memory of

For Sir Terry Wogan

Sir Terry Wogan Poem, in memory of

A listener to your radio show and to the joy that it always gave
Through that I got to know someone who was true and brave
You let us see the lighter side, and yet you were very much aware
Of the pain others tried to hide and so reached out a hand to care

The teddy with the covered eye contains your heart deep within
As you always aimed to reach the sky to bring those donations in
So many have been saved by you, you brought hope to those with none
So many have been help by you teaching them that life can be fun

Tirelessly you gave yourself, to children across our land
Sharing out the donated wealth, stretching out a helping hand
You will be remembered by us all and the legacy you leave behind
And when the yellow teddy comes to call, you will always be on my mind

* Sir Terry Wogan (1938-2016)
* May you Rest in Peace
