A Lucky Life

We are lucky People

A lucky life

There’s no drought outside my door. No flood spread across my floor.
There is plenty of food here that I can eat.
There’s no guns firing at me, no battles that I can see
Everyone’s moving safely along my street

There’s no tanks that will collide, I don’t need to run and hide
The enemy is nowhere near to my door
I can sleep in peace tonight, I don’t need to go and fight.
I do not fear what tomorrow has in store

I will wake in restful dawn, blackbirds singing on the lawn
A land of calmness with no war to be seen
There is clear water to drink, a peaceful place I can think
Oh yes, I know how lucky my life has been
