The cat’s on the bookcase, the second shelf is his,
A place of contentment, asleep and at ease.
His blanket is ancient, but it’s the one he loves best,
It must always be there when he goes for his rest.
To not be disturbed, until it is time for his feed,
Although he may welcome a stroke, when he’s in need.
Please pass by him quietly, let him sleep in peace,
For if you wake him now, he will expect a feast,
To be presented before him, only the best will do!
But it’s all worthwhile when he gives his love to you.
